Santa Fe Community College Paramedic Program Accepting Applications

Santa Fe Community College’s Emergency Medical Services Institute is accepting Paramedic Training Program applications through July 31 for the year-long certificate program that starts October 15.

Applicants must be a currently licensed New Mexico Emergency Medical Technician – Basic or Intermediate and up-to-date with their certifications. The application fee is $30 and is non-refundable.

Entrance to the program is competitive. All applications will be reviewed and those who have the minimum qualifications will be invited to take the test. Testing is scheduled for Tuesday, August 14 and Wednesday, August 15 at SFCC. Applicants who are invited to test will need to attend one of the two testing days. The tests include a computer-based exam on Emergency Medical Technician knowledge, an interview and brief scenarios to demonstrate applicant’s grasp and understanding of EMT-level material.

After the exams are graded and ranked, the top 18 candidates will be offered positions in the program. Candidates will be notified by August 20. Successful candidates will have until August 27 to accept, after which the position will be offered to the next qualified candidate. Classes for the year-long program begin October 15, with graduation slated for December, 2019.
